I'm seeing a few issues so far...

Cant seem to shut minimyth down from the UI.. this is bad, I need it. EDIT: d'oh! it's a mythfrontend setting. Never mind :)

OpenGL really sucks on my EPIA-M10000.. talk about slooooooow :(

WOL doesn't work when I've done a shutdown.

Everything else, so far so good :)

I would imagine that it is. However, there are some things to check.

What theme are you using? I have noticed on the mythtv-users mailing list that people are having trouble with G.A.N.T..

If you run the command

Code: Select all

glxinfo | grep renderer
does it say CLE266 (with a bunch of other stuff).
WOL doesn't work when I've done a shutdown.
Are you saying that MiniMyth does not wake up your back end when it should?
Everything else, so far so good :)
Thank you for the report

I'll check the glxinfo stuff tomorrow, today I was testing & building up to migrating my main backend to 0.20 on ubuntu (from gentoo).

When I said I have a problem with WOL... I find it nice to be able to wake the minimyth box with WOL... I first had this problem when I upgraded to 0.19 - my wakeup script still sends the correct 'magic packet' but the box doesn't wake up if it's been shut down. IIRC it's possibly a kernel issue with the LAN driver.

FYI one thing I had a little trouble with was the lirc configuration... in previous versions I'd never bothered to have a remote name in minimyth.conf & got away with it.. not this time ;)

Marvellous :(

Mythtv 0.20-fixes has changed the protocol version, so I won't be able to use this minimyth with it.

ArghhhhH!

Yeah. I saw that. I was hoping they would realize that this was a bad thing to do on the fixes branch and back out the change. I guess not. Are packagers already pushing out packages with the new "fix"?

No idea, Pablo :(

Only a matter of time before they do though I guess.

I'm putting off upgrading until things have settled down for a while.

Pablo,

I've been trying out the test versions of minimyth 0.20 recently (I was using 0.20-19b4). I got this mostly working (still just a couple of things to test before upgrading my live MythTV system to 0.20) and thought I'd try the 0.20-19b6 version of minimyth.

My config Xorg that worked ok for 0.20-19b4 didn't 0.20-19b6. My minimyth.conf is configured for PAL, 720x576Noscale, S-video, but none of these settings got inserted into the xorg.conf file on the FE.

I've just regressed to 0.20-19b4 for now, but have some of the config options changed, or is this a bug?

Anyway, much appreciation for all your work you put into Minimyth.

Thanks
Peter

Hi Pablo

Any chance of getting a newer mythtv on the image? The protocol version is up to 31 and my fine frontend is currently stuck at 30.

EDIT: I am running 0.20B6 and am maintaining mythtv backend through ATrpms

TIA

Yes. I noticed that ATrpms has picked up this version. Assuming I get a chance to test a few init script changes that I made, I should be able to upload a new version within the next 24 hours.
