intel xorg drivers

Post by jenda »

in meta/minimyth/files/source/lists/graphics/minimyth-lib-list.intel the file is missing:
xorg/modules/drivers/tfp410.so

It is possible that some more files are missing because xorg-7.3 still failed on my compupter (82845G/GL[Brookdale-G]/GE Chipset) with some error in I830WaitLpRing()

I will add tfp410.so.

As for the error in I830WaitLpRing, if you post the exact error message, then I might be be able to track down the problem.

I am tring to use Fujitsu-Siemens SCENIC S2 for minimyth. It has 845G onboard graphic. minimyth-0.21.0-63 (plus .../tfp410.so), kernel 2.6.26, xorg 7.3, X fails to start.

Option "NoAccel" "true" fix this, but then the video performace is terrible bad.

Knoppix (kernel 2.6.19, xorg 7.1.1) starts without any problem on the HW.

There is output of X -verbose:

X.Org X Server 1.4.2
Release Date: 11 June 2008

Could you try both
0.21.0-64b4-xorg.7.3
and
0.21.0-64b4-xorg.7.4
and let me know which ones work (if any)?

Both have a newer kernel: 2.6.27.10. In addition, the xorg.7.4 version has a newer xorg-server: 1.5.3.

the issue in suggested thread is something different, and my BIOS does not have such options, the HW does not support so big ram.

it's probably does not have connection with my issue, but one xorg7.4 file is missing:

Xorg.0.0.log:
...
(II) Initializing built-in extension RANDR
(II) Initializing built-in extension DAMAGE
(EE) AIGLX error: dlopen of /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri/swrast_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri/swrast_dri.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)
(EE) GLX: could not load software renderer
(II) GLX: no usable GL providers found for screen 0
(II) intel(0): Setting screen physical size to 256 x 192
